AMAFEST 26 Workshop – COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE: The original Comic Italian Masks of the 17th century
Starting from the work on three original, different types of masks that are basical for the developing of a performance of Commedia dell’Arte (Pantalone, Pulcinella and Arlecchino), the workshops pushs the work on the breathing, body and voice of the actors, on the difficulties of wearing a Mask and the best way to do It. Also, the workshop shows the difference between the characters and how to show It Just through the body and the masks: walking, standing, talking and acting Is totally different for each Mask; It works on the art of improvisation and how to build a performance without text and instruments, only using the body of the actors and the ability of adaptation and improvisation on the stage, as It happened in the original commedia dell’arte. It’s an important work on rithm and control of the stage and the audience, experiencing the possibilities of comic Theatre and it’s limits – the workshop offers also a panoramical wiews of the historical period and situation in which this genre developed, in Italy and Europe.

Theater am Olgaeck
Das Theater am Olgaeck wurde im September 2004 von Nelly Eichhorn (Journalistin, Dramaturgin, Regisseurin) gegründet. Das Theater hat sich dem internationalen Kulturaustausch und Dialog verpflichtet. Durch ambitionierte Theateraufführungen, internationale Theater und Filmfestivals, Sommertheater im Bopserwald, sowie Lesungen, Ausstellungen und Liederabende hat sich das Theater weit über die Grenzen Stuttgarts hinaus einen hervorragenden Ruf erarbeitet.
Als eine der jüngsten Bühnen Stuttgarts hat sich das Theater am Olgaeck zu einer kulturpolitischen Plattform für internationale Kontakte, Beziehungen zu europäischen Ländern und den Stuttgarter Partnerstädten entwickelt. ROMA-TAG-FESTIVAL – Europas grösstes Kultur-politisches Romafestival, AFRIKA FILM FESTIVAL, AMAFEST – Internationales Amateurtheaterfestival Stuttgart werden vom Theater am Olgaeck organisiert, Gastspiele, Kooperationen und Festivals führen es nach Armenien, Belgien, England, Estland, Litauen, Georgien, Kroatien, Spanien, Portugal
Das Theater am Olgaeck hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die europäische Einheit auch in der Theaterarbeit zu betonen, gemeinsame kulturelle Aktivitäten zu entwickeln, die über Sprachgrenzen hinweg die Kunstform Theater als eine Verbindung von Poesie und der Gemeinsamkeit nationaler Identitäten verstehen.
